Keep on Dreamin’
Do you remember this scene from Pretty Woman?
“Welcome to Hollywood! What’s your dream? Everybody comes here; this is Hollywood, land of dreams. Some dreams come true, some don’t; but keep on dreamin’ – this is Hollywood. Always time to dream, so keep on dreamin’.”
This was the closing scene of the iconic movie that turned Julia Roberts into the star she is today. Now, I’m sure you’re wondering why I’m equating a movie of this nature to our youth sports programs – stay with me, I have a point here. It’s all because of that last scene, those final words. I will always remember this scene and I think of those lines frequently – “Always time to dream so keep on dreamin’.” Truer words were never spoken.
I think if you asked i9 Sports founder, Frank Fiume, he would agree. This unique franchise concept all came from a dream. A dream to make youth sports better. A dream to make youth sports FUN again. A dream to make youth sports a positive experience for every athlete in spite of athletic prowess.
Frank speaks openly in his interview with Franchising World about how he has gone From Childhood Dream to a Thriving Franchise. In this article, he states, “My dream as a kid growing up in the late 1970s was a unique one: to create a youth sports league that emphasized fun, safety, good sportsmanship, and fair play over a cut-throat winning mentality.”
This was, and still is, Frank’s dream and passion. So, I ask, what’s your dream? Always time to dream, so keep on dreamin’.
