Wrapping up 2020 on a high note, i9 Sports welcomes three more franchise owners into the fold
Three more franchise owners signed up with i9 Sports in 2020, helping us end a challenging year on a high note — especially on the heels of the other five franchisees we welcomed in the latter part of the year.
Meet our new owners:
Ryan Clapp, Smithfield & Clayton, NC. Before becoming a franchise owner with i9 Sports, Clapp was a pharmaceutical sales representative. He has always had a passion for sports — playing baseball, basketball and golf growing up — and still plays pick-up basketball and golf today. His son, now 8, started playing flag football with i9 Sports a few years ago. “I quickly saw how well-organized they were and how they emphasized sportsmanship. I have since coached his other i9 Sports teams in basketball and flag football, which only solidified my desire to seek an ownership opportunity,” Clapp says. “My son, Chance, eats, breathes and sleeps sports, so to share this experience with him moving forward is truly a blessing.”
Shannon and Chrystal Phillips, Chattanooga, TN. Before joining i9 Sports as a franchise owner, Shannon was a software support engineer. Chrystal continues to work in IT project management while helping her husband with the franchise behind the scenes. Chrystal played softball from age 5 and comes from an athletic family. Shannon coached i9 Sports soccer in Acworth, GA, for four years, along with his wife, Chrystal, in addition to teaching youth children’s church. The couple and their two children moved from Georgia back to Tennessee to open their new franchise. “i9 Sports is allowing me to marry my love for innovation and kids while making a positive impact in my hometown of Chattanooga, TN,” Shannon says.
Tim Miller, Central Phoenix/Scottsdale. Miller and his wife, Martha, recently moved to the Scottsdale, AZ, area from Chicago to start their i9 Sports territory. Miller spent 18 years with Toyota, where he discovered a passion for developing future leaders. The Millers are the proud parents of 9-year-old son, Charles, and 7-year-old daughter, Rosalie, who have participated in flag football, basketball and cheerleading. In high school, Miller ran track and cross country and played basketball. In college, he picked up rugby and continued to play for the Huntington Beach Rugby Club, where he served as club Captain and President. Miller’s passion for developing leaders and his love of sports dovetailed perfectly with the i9 Sports franchise opportunity.
