In Our Latest Appearance on the Franchise 500 List, i9 Sports Vaults Up 148 Spots
For the fifth year in a row, i9 Sports® has made Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500 list. It’s our 14th appearance on the list, which is considered the most comprehensive ranking of franchise opportunities in the industry.
i9 Sports was also recognized as one of 11 franchises that made a major jump in the rankings, leaping 148 spots to reach No. 307 on the 2023 list.
How we did it
“Our model is highly attractive to the many Americans who, after being gut-punched by COVID shutdowns and the economic uncertainty that has ensued, are ready for a career reset,” said Brian Sanders, President of i9 Sports. “And the way COVID disrupted people’s lives made them hungry for social activities, especially for their kids, and that has created a great environment for franchisees to grow their youth sports businesses.”
While helping franchisees navigate the height of the pandemic, i9 Sports stayed focused on future growth and was quick to invest in additional staff and resources to capture the surging demand. This focus paid off for the brand and franchise owners. In fact, i9 Sports achieved record-breaking revenue numbers in 2021 and 2022.
Part of the Franchise 500
We are the nation’s first and largest youth sports league business with over 200 franchise locations nationwide. Based in Tampa, Florida, i9 offers sports leagues for flag football, soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball, lacrosse, and tennis for kids ages 3 to 14.
“Our low-cost, home-based business model offers a rare way for people to take command of their future while doing something truly meaningful for kids and their community,” Sanders said.
What sets us apart for customers
Our youth sports programs are fun for kids and convenient for families, and we teach the fundamentals of today’s most popular sports. Our model of same-day practice and play as well as our four-season, year-round leagues gives us advantages over other youth sports leagues.
What sets us apart for entrepreneurs
Our business is affordable to start and is not capital intensive to grow — it’s not a business model where you must “have money to make money.” Instead, you can get started with as little as $36,500 and build the business through passion and hustle. And it’s easy to stay inspired since providing a joyful youth sports experience is great for kids and the community.
